2019 Grant Awards

In January 2019, the Trust once again invited proposals.  The Trust received 56 submissions and, after much consideration, we decided to fund 32 projects.  Grants ranged from $750 to $3,965 for a total of $70,364.

Bolivia – $1,200 – Assist a rural school.

Botswana – $2,000 – Construct eco-friendly recycled park.

Botswana – $3,791 – Provide English language material for school library.

Brazil – $1,666 – Build new roof on a children’s home.

Congo - $3,965 – Install electricity in home for girls.

Dominica – $1,022 – Purchase books for public library.

Dominican Republic – $1,558 – Empower at-risk girls through reading.

El Salvador – $3,500 – Upgrade kitchen at hospital.

El Salvador – $1,700 – Install water filtration kits for island community.

Fiji -$750 – Purchase playground equipment for children with disabilities.

Gabon – $2,200 – Install new plumbing at orphanage.

Greece – $3,475 – Purchase furniture for refugee shelter.

Guyana – $3,300 – Reconstruction kitchen at shelter for abused women.

Haiti – $2,650 – Provide American Heart Association cardiac life support training.

Haiti – $3,000 – Buy bunk beds for orphanage.

Indonesia – $3,500 – Redesign English learning center for refugees.

Italy – $1,265 – Provide books and furniture for refugee center.

Lithuania – $1,093 – Construct playground at children’s shelter.

Malaysia – $2,500 – Supply hygiene kits for refugees.

Mali – $3,812 – Support training programs for young mothers.

Mali – $1,200 – Provide educational materials for children in orphanage.

Mexico – $2,500 – Install washing machines for shelter.

Mexico – $3,000 – Build maker space at shelter for boys.

Mexico – $1,000 – Supply books for children.

Myanmar – $2,500 – Furnish a shelter for trafficking victims.

Myanmar – $2,801 Supply girls with hygiene kits.

Nigeria – $2,676 outfit clinic with neonatal resuscitation mannequins.

Pakistan – $1,050 – purchase education supplies for vulnerable girls.

South Africa – $2,000 – Upgrade play area at school for children with autism.

Thailand – $1,250 – Supply girls with hygiene kits.

Turkey – $2,440 Buy furniture for refugee center.


2018 Grant Awards

In January 2018, the Trust once again invited proposals. The Trust received 59 submissions and, after careful consideration, we decided to fund 31 projects. Grants ranged from $885 to $4330 for a total of $76,280.

Albania – $3,000 – Install a drainage system, level a field and install a retaining wall at a playground for Roma children.

Benin – $2,034 – provide tennis lessons and reading activities for disadvantaged children.

Brazil – $884 – Install mosquito netting on children’s beds at an orphanage.

Bulgaria – $2,500 – Renovate bathroom in boy’s dormitory at orphanage.

Colombia – $350 – Plant trees in a public park.

Cyprus – $3,133 – Make improvements to playground and garden of shelter for vulnerable women and children.

Ecuador – $3,000 – Purchase furniture and books for a children’s library at a family resource center.

Egypt – $3,500 – Repair a library for refugees.

Fiji – $3,000 – Paint and decorate a home for the elderly.

Honduras – $3,000 – Renovate the infirmary and paint the chapel at a home for the elderly.

Indonesia – $3,000 – Refurbish classrooms and provide medical and school supplies to school for under privileged children.

Italy – $2,440 – Provide books and furniture for refugee center.

Kenya – $3,500 – Make improvements to kitchen at an orphanage.

Lesotho – $1,564 – Purchase a telescope for children at a local school.

Liberia – $2,500 – Install a playground for school for the blind.

Malaysia – $3,000 – Distribute early childhood playkits to refugees.

Mexico – $3,000 – Build playground for under privileged children.

Mozambique – $2,000 – Upgrade the facilities at an intensive care unit in a hospital.

Myanmar – $3,250 – Improve bathrooms and purchase bunk beds for orphanage.

Panama – $2,500 – Build clean water and sanitation project for coastal community.

Peru – $920 – Provide snacks to students in Saturday morning English language session.

Philippines – $3,000 – Provide dental equipment to clinic serving under-privileged children.

Saudi Arabia – $3,000 – Purchase material for art therapy for abused women.

Senegal – $3,000 – Train women recently released from prison to help reintegration into their community.

South Africa – $3,600 – Purchase gym equipment for disabled children.

Swaziland – $1,500 – Provide Women’s health products to girls.

Taiwan – $2,000 – Provide assistance for autistic children.

Thailand – $1,000 – Expand a neighborhood library.

Uganda – $2,075 – Provide equipment and supplies for volunteer activities at a refugee center and children’s cancer center.

Ukraine – $700 – Upgrade a playground and playroom at orphanage.

Venezuela – $4,330 – Equip a soup kitchen, and supply toys and sporting equipment.
